The Independence Manifesto

Why QuantZ owns everything that matters.

Most retail trading products are a thin shell around rented parts: embedded third-party charts, cloud analytics quietly following you around, market data you can never inspect, AI answers from a black box someone else operates. When any of those parts changes its terms, breaks, or starts lying — the product breaks with it, and you can't tell.

Own the critical path.
Rent nothing visible.

The one rule QuantZ is built on
  • Our data pipeline. Vendor-routed ingestion with fallback chains writes through to our own TimescaleDB history — a dataset that grows every day and can never be taken away. Every payload names its source; simulated data always wears an amber SIM badge.
  • Our charting stack. Indicators, drawing tools, volume profile, replay — first-party code, self-hosted on the open-source Lightweight Charts renderer. The last third-party chart embed (the hosted TradingView widget) was deleted in 2026.
  • Our auth. Sessions live in our Postgres. TOTP two-factor, backup codes, session management — no identity provider between you and your account.
  • Our AI. Structured AI tasks run on a model we host ourselves, provenance-stamped quantz-llm. Where a vendor model still fills a gap, the answer says so.
  • Our analytics. First-party, in our own database. Your browser talks to exactly one host: ours.

Honesty rules bind every feature: anything that can change before a bar closes carries a forming|confirmedstate; every backtest fills pessimistically; every data widget shows its provenance. If we can't do a feature honestly, we don't ship it.

Stripe handles payments — regulated infrastructure belongs with regulated providers. Everything you can see and touch is ours.
